Minas Gerais stands out in sustainability. The city capital, Belo Horizonte, was selected for the second consecutive year as the WWF Earth Hour Brazilian capital, with highlight for the use of solar energy. Belo Horizonte is also Brazil’s main smart city concerned with the environment, according to the Smart Cities ranking by Urban Systems.
